Camp VIP is a day camp for children age’s five to twelve, who are in foster care or have been adopted out of foster care. That means: they must be five (5) by July 1, and, not turn thirteen (13) until after July 31. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided daily for each camper. Daily activities including basketball, roller skating, crab soccer, etc., burn excess energy while teaching the importance of team play and individual development. Camp VIP offers creative arts and crafts and workshops that help the children recognize and deal with the emotions of self-blame, anger, and living with families other than their birth family. Friday, the last day of camp is a day of celebrating new friends and a new sense of self value. Fun, food, competitions and awards ceremony are an all-day happening that wraps up a week of amazing changes.
